Hey, gorgeous! First of all, let me just say—I’m so excited for you. Deciding to do a boudoir session is a big step, and whether you’re doing it for yourself, a partner, or just for fun, one thing is for sure: you deserve to feel absolutely incredible.
I know, I know—getting in front of the camera in lingerie (or even less) can feel a little intimidating. That’s totally normal! But trust me when I say that confidence isn’t about looking a certain way—it’s about feeling amazing in your own skin. So let’s talk about how to ditch the nerves and walk into your boudoir session feeling like the absolute goddess you are.

Table of Contents
1. Remember: Boudoir is for EVERY Body
First things first—there’s no such thing as the “perfect” body for boudoir. You don’t need to lose weight, tone up, or change a single thing to look stunning in your photos, these are all myths! Boudoir is about embracing yourself exactly as you are and celebrating what makes you unique.
As your photographer, my job isn’t to highlight your insecurities—it’s to showcase your beauty, confidence, and personality. And trust me, I see beauty in EVERYONE who steps in front of my camera.

2. Get in the Right Headspace
Confidence starts in your mind. If you’re constantly telling yourself, I’m not sexy enough for this, your brain is going to believe it. So let’s flip the script!
Start replacing self-doubt with self-love. Instead of focusing on what you think are your “flaws,” focus on what you love about yourself. Maybe it’s your curves, your eyes, your smile, or even just the way you carry yourself when you feel amazing.
Try saying things like:
✨ “I am beautiful and worthy of this experience.”
✨ “My body deserves to be celebrated.”
✨ “I am sexy, confident, and powerful.”
It might feel silly at first, but trust me—positive self-talk is magic.
3. Choose Outfits That Make You Feel Amazing
The right outfit can change everything. When you’re picking what to wear, choose pieces that make you feel sexy and confident. Whether it’s lacy lingerie, a cozy off-the-shoulder sweater, or nothing but a silky sheet—it’s all about what you love.
And if you’re not sure what works best? Don’t stress—I’m here to help! I can guide you on flattering styles, color choices, and fabrics!
4. Give Yourself Some Pre-Shoot Self Care
Treat your boudoir session like a special event (because it is!). Give yourself a little self-care leading up to the shoot:
Hydrate & Get Plenty of Rest – You’ll feel more refreshed and energized.
Moisturize Your Skin – A little glow goes a long way!
Pamper Yourself – Whether it’s a mani-pedi, a bubble bath, or just some extra “me time,” do what makes you feel good.
And don’t worry about crash dieting or extreme workouts—your body is already perfect. And if you’re still nervous, check out my hair, makeup, and skin tips for prepping for your session.
5. Know That I’ve Got You With Every Pose
One of the biggest fears I hear from clients is, I don’t know how to pose!
Guess what? You don’t need to know how to pose—that’s my job! I’ll guide you through everything, from where to put your hands to how to arch your back just right. We’ll find the angles that highlight your best features and poses that make you feel sexy, confident, and natural.
And if you feel nervous at first? That’s totally normal! I promise, within the first 10 minutes, you’ll be laughing, having fun, and feeling like an absolute queen.
6. Communicate with Your Photographer
Boudoir photography is a personal experience, and it’s completely normal to have questions or concerns before your session. Whether you’re wondering about outfit choices, posing, or what to expect, don’t hesitate to reach out to me. Open communication is key to feeling comfortable and confident.
I will be there to guide you through every step, from selecting the perfect wardrobe to helping you find the most flattering poses. If you have specific preferences, concerns, or ideas in mind, be sure to share them. Whether there are certain poses you love, areas you’d prefer to downplay, or a particular mood you want to capture, I always appreciate knowing your vision!
No question is too small, and nothing is off-limits. The more we communicate, the better we can tailor the session to fit your comfort level and style. So ask away, express your thoughts, and trust that I’ll be there to make you feel at ease throughout the entire experience.
7. Remember Why You’re Doing This
At the end of the day, your boudoir session is about you. Whether you’re doing this to celebrate a milestone, embrace self-love, or just step out of your comfort zone, remind yourself why you booked this session in the first place.
You deserve to see yourself the way the rest of the world sees you—strong, beautiful, and worthy of love and confidence.
Just Breathe and Trust the Process
The most important thing to remember? You’ve got this.
You don’t need to be a model. You don’t need to have any experience. All you need is an open mind, a little self-love, and trust that you’re in good hands.
By the time we’re done, you won’t just walk away with stunning photos—you’ll leave with a confidence boost that lasts way beyond the session.
So take a deep breath, step into your power, and get ready to own your boudoir experience. I can’t wait to capture the magic that is you.
